Director - Melanie Brunt

Melanie Brunt graduated with 1st class Honours from her postgraduate year at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), Film & Television School where she wrote, directed & edited 3 short films ‘Inheritance’, ‘Hindsight’ & ‘Rain’.

Her shorts have screened in competition at international film festivals in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Chile, France, Japan & Australia, including the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival and the Melbourne International Film Festival. ‘Rain’ won Best Short Film at the In The Bin Short Film Festival in Queensland. Melanie received an Australia Film Commission (AFC) Grant for a Directing Attachment with Theatre & TV Director Roger Hodgman on the Network Ten Series ‘Crash Burn’. She recently completed her latest short film ‘Bird’.

Melanie Brunt’s alter ego is that of a Producer. Her company Feather Films produces short films, animations and documentaries. Its inaugural production was Erin White’s 18 minute Film Victoria funded ‘Dugong’ which Melanie produced. It premiered was at Aspen Shortsfest, was nominated for 2 Australian Film Institute (AFI) Awards and screened at Sundance.
